"I want to start a SaaS, but which one do I start? And how do I start it?"

I get it.

When you think of starting a SaaS, so many questions start flooding in.

When I realized that a 9-5 wasn't for me, I did everything in my power to avoid getting one.

But that meant I didn't have an employer to give me a paycheck every month. It was all on me now. Every part of the business. The thought of that overwhelmed me.

How do I come up with good ideas?
Wtf is Stripe?
Building? Oh god
Can I do something related to my interests?
Or should I copy someone and try to make money fast?

I would latch onto any quick and "profitable" business model I could find.

I tried dropshipping.

I tried an ecommerce agency.

I tried portrait photography.

Each and every one of those businesses failed.

(Well, they didn't really fail, I just stopped or sold my shares to my co-founder.)

But the skills I stacked during that time made it click for me:

All successful businesses have 2 things in common:

1) They have leverage.

This means your outputs are not 1:1 correlated to your inputs. In software you build 1 feature that you can give to 10,000 users with 1 click. This is leverage.

2) They have recurring revenue.

The biggest problem most businesses have is generating consistent sales.

Because most businesses sell a one-off product.

Meaning they have to acquire new customer each month.

I had to play this exact same game in my ecommerce agency.

Every end of the month I was thinking to myself: “How do I meet payroll next month? We have to close at least 3 new clients or we go bust.”

My sleep was wrecked and I was constantly stressed out.

But leverage & recurring revenue is still super broad and confusing.

The question now is, what can you start doing right now.

As one person.

Without investing your life savings.

In a way that works with any skill or interest…

And can be scaled as far as you want to go?

We don't live in the industrial age anymore.

There are more options than the outdated path of "go to school, get a job, maybe start a local physical business that costs tens of thousands along the way, and retire at 65."

You have access to AI for goodness sake.

You have access to internet courses where you can learn almost anything much faster than you could with a traditional education.

And luckily, you're at that point in history where there are so many tools out there.

You can whip up a website with the click of a button.

You can ship a SaaS in a week with AI.

(Which used to take 10 full-stack developers to build).

You can post a random idea to social media and have 10,000 people see it (on the very low end).

And if you have a software, all it takes is having a tiny fraction of those people pay you monthly for your work.
